Hello queens and kings. How are you today? This blog is all about one thing which is: Once Upon A Crime. When I saw this I said I like fantasy, I like mystery, this is the perfect movie.
- What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?
The conventions that I saw on Once Upon A Crime was voice over, wide shot, medium close up, ambient sound, sound bridge, costumes, sound motif, shot/reverse shot, close up, tracking, zoom and two shot. Though there are probably more,these are the conventions that I wanted to list because when I saw these occur not only were they noticeable but also how they were used entertained me. Especially the voice over because whenever I watch a movie the most memorable thing I remember is when the voice over sounds like a storyteller reading a book. There is just something about it that interests me- What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you like?
Some conventions that I like were the voice over because something about it is just interesting to me. Close up is one of the conventions I liked because I get to see the details closely. Another is the medium close up and to be honest I just liked this convention because you get to see the characters face close up. Lastly it was sound motif because you get to know if the situation the character is in is bad or not. So, i'm probably going to use all or some of these conventions. - What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final task?
To be honest I liked all the conventions Once Upon A Crime used. But if I were to choose thing that I would not want in my movie is over the shoulder because I feel like it would be difficult to use in my final task. Lastly, it's going to be zoom because again I don't know how I will incorporate it into my final task and close up is just better for the task that I want to show in my film.
I thought Once Upon A Crime was just a normal american movie but it was not it was an Asian movie. I said I must really like Asian movies because out of all the movies I've seen this was the only one that stood out to me. Well anyways that seems to be all for now. Have a good day tomorrow?
